Entourage Web services starts and eventually I get to a screen that asks me to choose a disk to install Entourage Web services to. However all the disks listed have yellow triangles. The 1st one listed is the Macintosh HD. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume. I still get the same message.
On I even tried running some of the Office update files, but when I try to select a disk to install it to the same thing happens. Can any of you get me going in the right direction? I copied and pasted from Word, and the bad formatting didn't show up until I came back to the posting.
Should really move to Mac Office , at a minimum. Entourage was never good, and under typical circumstance was barely adequate. It sounds like the operating system is a different version than what the software is designed for. The first disk you tried installing on, Macintosh HD, is the correct choice. The error you wrote sounds like the Entourage installation first checks if MS Office is even there before it proceeds. Part of our security policy is never to install Microsoft product on a Mac. Usually when the triangle comes up on a drive during a software install it mean the drive is out of space, or that your missing a prerequisite for the software. You may already have a new version installed, or you may be missing an original version it requires before you can install the updated version.
Either there is not enough drive space, your don't have write privilege to the disk, or you have a more current version SP included installed. I also agree that trying to use MSO for Mac at this point is not a good idea. Entourage is a problematic thing.
